Highly respected serviced apartment operator, The Ascott Limited, whose management portfolio includes The First Group’s Metro Central Apartments in Barsha Heights, has been named the Best Serviced Apartments Brand in the Middle East at this year’s prestigious Business Traveller Middle East Awards.
The annual awards programme recognises excellence across every facet of the travel industry, from airlines to hotel and hotel-apartment operators.
This year’s ceremony, which was staged at Grand Plaza Mövenpick Media City, attracted more than 300 VIPs from across the travel industry, including Guest of Honour Michael Ellis, Chief Culinary Officer for Jumeirah and former International Director of the Michelin Guides.
The First Group’s award-winning Metro Central Apartments, which operates under The Ascott’s Citadines Apart Hotels brand, ranks among Barsha Heights most popular serviced apartment developments.
The impressive, 17-storey tower features 210 fully furnished luxury apartments comprising 12 Executive Studios, 96 Director Apartments and 102 Presidential Suites, each of which enjoys a unique configuration thanks to the building’s architectural design.

Other big winners at this year’s Business Travel Awards were The First Group’s airline partner Emirates, which won the top prize in multiple categories, including Airline with the Best First Class and Economy Class; Airline with the Best Frequent Flyer Programme; Best Airport Lounge in the Middle East (First Class Lounge, Dubai International Airport); and the coveted Best Airline Worldwide award.
Dubai International Airport was also voted Best Airport in the Middle East and Best Airport for Duty Free Shopping.
