Manny Pacquiao - one of the best pound-for-pound boxers on the planet - could be set to compete in Dubai. The 34-year-old's trainer Freddie Roach has revealed that the Filipino star has been offered $10 million to fight in the emirate this year.Roach told Sport360 that the glamour and razzmatazz of Dubai makes it a viable option to stage Pacquiao's next encounter."I got a phone call from someone in Dubai on Monday, who offered $10 million for Manny to fight there in April," he was quoted as saying."A place like Dubai for a fight could be great. It's a great location for pay-per-view and TV networks and it would be seen worldwide."There would definitely be a lot of interest for a fight to take place there so it has the potential to be a great event."However, the trainer added that the decision is out of his hands and Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum would make the final call. The welterweight fighter has amassed a global fanbase thanks to his humble demeanour and lightning quick ring skills. His last 14 bouts have taken place in the US, but he is currently prohibited from fighting in Las Vegas, which is widely accepted to be the home of boxing.Pacquiao's licence was suspended for 120 days by the Nevada Boxing Commission after he collapsed in the sixth round of his loss to the impressive Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez in December. That has opened the door for the popular southpaw to perform in another part of the world and Dubai is clearly a very attractive proposition. It is unclear at this stage who Pacquiao - affectionately known as Pac Man - will face in his next fight.Fans have been dreaming of seeing a clash between Pacquiao and the undefeated American superstar Floyd Mayweather Jr, but negotiations have never really got off the ground. One thing is for sure, luring Pacquiao to Dubai would be a major coup for the Middle Eastern city.
