Seal set to perform at Dubai World Cup

If the prospect of the richest horse race on earth wasn't exciting enough, organisers of the Dubai World Cup have ramped things up a notch by booking Seal for a special performance once the meeting has finished.The multi-platinum album selling star will take to the stage on March 30th, shortly after the prestigious Dubai World Cup race comes to an end.Seal has built up a huge global fanbase since he first burst on to the scene in the 1990s. His first release Killer soared to the top of the UK charts in 1990 and his second song Crazy earned him recognition on an international scale just one year later.In 1992, he became the first person to scoop three accolades at the Brit Awards, as he left with the Best British Male, Best British Video and Best British Album prizes.Having sold more than 20 million albums worldwide, Seal's pedigree is unquestionable and it is a real coup for the organisers of the Dubai World Cup Carnival to secure his services."The Dubai World Cup presents our 80,000 guests with a full day and night of unmissable racing excitement and entertainment," commented Frank Gabriel, chief executive officer for Dubai Racing Club."We are delighted to celebrate this as one of the most memorable events in the sporting and social calendar, and to welcome such an internationally-acclaimed artist as Seal to perform live in concert."The Meydan Racecourse has been gearing up for the all-important World Cup meeting by staging a number of top-class races.Last week, the racecourse hosted the 'Super Saturday' event, which was endorsed by Emirates.The second-biggest meeting of the year is usually viewed as a dress rehearsal for the main event at the end of the month and it was certainly a memorable occasion.Godolphin and trainer Saeed bin Suroor managed to win four of the seven races on the card, including both of the Group 1 features, and the team will be hoping for further success in the $10 million Dubai World Cup race.
