Eric Bristow has a ball in Dubai
Darts legend Eric Bristow is the latest famous face to have a whale of a time in Dubai.The former world number one has been taking part in the inaugural Dubai and Abu Dhabi Darts Masters alongside a number of the game's iconic figures, including Co Stompe, Colin Lloyd and Bobby George.They lined up against a crop of amateurs from across the UAE in an exciting event, with Stompe eventually reigning supreme.Bristow - who also appeared in hit ITV1 show I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! towards the end of 2012 - has clearly enjoyed his time in the Gulf and he has kept his legions of fans updated via his Twitter account.He revealed that he was staying in the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai, which was recently confirmed by the Guinness Book of Records as the tallest hotel on the planet.Bristow also stated that he had been for a look around the Dubai Mall and he posted a number of pictures for his 62,950 followers to have a look at."Just been to Dubai Mall, how big is that place?" he tweeted on Sunday (February 3rd).The ex-world champion also enjoyed the weather, as he revealed he had been soaking up the rays by the pool during his stay.Darts is becoming increasingly popular in the Middle East and the Masters event was just one of a number of exciting meetings scheduled to take place in the UAE this year.Stompe told Sport360° that he was impressed with the amateurs who took part and the Dutchman is no doubt looking forward to the Dubai Duty Free Darts Masters, which will take place on May 23rd and 24th.The first leg of the PDC World Series of Darts will see the best eight players on the planet battle it out at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium, with prize money of $250,000 up for grabs.Current world champion Phil "The Power" Taylor will be joined in the Gulf by Adrian Lewis, Raymond van Barneveld, Andy Hamilton, Wes Newton, James Wade, Michael van Gerwen and Simon Whitlock.
