Emirates continues to add new flights to Dubai

Emirates continues to make Dubai increasingly accessible to people all over the world.The airline - which is one the fastest growing carriers on the planet - announced this week (February 26th) that it will launch a second Airbus A380 service to Sydney, Australia from June 1st 2013.More and more wealthy Australians are making investments in the UAE, so it is vital that the two countries have excellent air links.Bosses at the airline confirmed that 1,890 seats will be made available on flights between Dubai and Sydney every week.Senior vice president of operations in the Far East and Australasia at Emirates Salem Obaidalla said this latest announcement compliments the company's proposed partnership with Australian carrier Qantas."Australia represents an important market for Emirates and ranks in the top three countries on Emirates' global network," he remarked."Adding larger capacity aircraft is central to our strategy of meeting growing passenger demand, while supporting trade between our two countries."Not only will the additional flight benefit property sellers in the UAE, but it will also have a hugely positive impact on Australia's economy.According to a Deloitte report, an additional Airbus A380 service between Dubai and Sydney would contribute around AUS$342 million (AED 1.2 billion) to Australia's gross domestic product.The new flight also has the potential to create 4,400 jobs - 2,800 of which would be in New South Wales.This is just one example of how Emirates continues to expand its network.Last week, the firm put on a special A380 flight from Dubai to Barcelona and is expected to do the same today (March 1st).Although this will not be a regular service, it was a landmark moment, as it was the first time Emirates has sent an A380 aircraft to Spain.Emirates has been transporting people between Dubai and Barcelona on its 777-300ER aeroplanes for seven months now and has already carried more than 113,000 passengers in that time.
