Emirates' A380 aircraft proves incredibly popular

Bosses at Emirates have confirmed that 14 million passengers have taken a trip on one of the firm's A380 aircraft. The carrier introduced the double-decker to its fleet in 2008 and it has proven to be exceptionally popular ever since. In order to attract even more customers, the company is offering discounted rates on A380 services until June 10th 2013.The huge aeroplane links Dubai with 21 destinations, including Sydney, London and Munich and the organisation continues to add new flights all the time.Just last week, Emirates launched new services to Warsaw in Poland and it also announced that Dubai would be served by an extra three flights to South Australia each week.Emirates currently has 31 A380s in operation - a figure that cannot be matched by any other global airline - and has conducted more than 35,000 trips, covering over 200 million km."Clearly our A380 is an extremely popular aircraft and these attractive fares to all destinations across all classes should enable even more people to enjoy the A380 experience," commented Sheikh Majid Al Mualla, Emirates' senior vice president of commercial operations in the Gulf, Middle East and Iran.Emirates has been working hard to boost its profile all over the world and the company has secured some very lucrative sponsorship deals.Indeed, the firm recently revealed that it has finalised a bumper agreement with Formula One, which will see the airline's logo displayed at some of the most important Grands Prix of the season. In addition to this, Emirates has a long-term deal with Arsenal Football Club - a package that includes stadium and shirt sponsorship rights.Players of French club Paris Saint Germain have Fly Emirates emblazed across their jerseys when they compete in Ligue 1 and the Uefa Champions League.Emirates also benefits from the fact that more and more people want to travel to Dubai for business or recreation purposes and around 66 million passengers are expected to land in the emirate throughout 2013.
