Dubai reveals exciting plans for KSA National Day

Dubai will celebrate this week’s 89th Saudi National Day in style with a range of promotions and live events planned across the city.

With Saudi authorities granting a four-day holiday to celebrate the kingdom’s national day on 23 September, thousands of Saudis are expected to arrive in Dubai this week.

Here are some of the top events planned:

* Fireworks at JBR: Get down to Dubai Marina and catch a special Saudi-themed firework display on the evening of 23 September. Prime vantage points will include The Beach in JBR, Bluewaters Island and The Pointe on Palm Jumeirah.

* Laser/light show at DFC: Over at Dubai Festival City Mall, Imagine – the record-breaking water, laser/light and fire display – will celebrate national day with a free Saudi themed-show staged every night from 19-23 September.

* Burj Khalifa: The Saudi flag will be projected on the world’s tallest building on 23 September, while the adjacent Dubai Fountain will feature a Saudi-themed laser/light and water presentation.

* Live concerts: Popular Emirati female artists Shamma Hamdan and Balqees Fathi will perform live this week coinciding with the Saudi National Day celebrations. Shamma Hamdan will sing at a major concert event to be staged at La Mer Beach Pavilion on 20 September, while Balqees Fathi, who is known as one of the Arab world’s most popular artists, will perform at City Walk on 19 September.

Elsewhere, various hotels and restaurants across the city will offer a range of special promotions this week, while Saudi nationals can take advantage of a 20% discount at retail outlets in Dubai Mall and other venues in Downtown Dubai including Souk Al Bahar and Dubai Opera.
