Dubai is still a hub for international gastronomy
Aside from the mammoth malls, glamorous hotels and sublime beaches, one of the best things about Dubai is its diverse culinary culture.Most big cities have restaurants that are dedicated to cuisine from around the world, but Dubai takes things to a whole new level.Some of the most talented and famous chefs on the planet own restaurants in the emirate and holidaymakers can choose to dine on anything they want.From rustic French bistros to flamboyant Brazilian food, there is something to tantalise the palate of every visitor.Peruvian cuisine is becoming increasingly popular across the globe and the Consulate General of Peru in Dubai has confirmed that a special festival will be held to celebrate the South American nation's gastronomy.The first ever Taste of Peru event will take place at the Amphitheatre at Souk Madinat Jumeirah between February 28th and March 2nd 2013 and it is set to be a memorable occasion.Attendees can sample some traditional Peruvian dishes, including ceviche, tiradito and beef anticuchos, as well as a selection of beverages such as the national grape cocktail.Famous Peruvian Chef Christian Bravo will also be on hand to perform live cooking demonstrations during the event.In addition to this, the culinary extravaganza will feature live musical performances by Peru Andino, who will add a bit of rhythm and colour to proceedings.It seems that barely a week goes by without some exciting new eatery opening its doors in Dubai.Last month, Elevation Burger - a gourmet brand that prides itself on using organic ingredients - opened in Latifa Towers on Sheikh Zayed Road.Chief executive officer at Elevation Burger UAE Khaled Al Dhubaib said he was delighted to finally bring the restaurant to the UAE, having already launched establishments in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar."Elevation Burger will be the most happening burger place in Dubai, it has been the favourite wherever it has opened before," he remarked during the grand unveiling of the new restaurant.
