The demand for property investments in Dubai grew sharply last year and there was one building in particular that attracted plenty of interest.Standing 828 metres from the ground, the Burj Khalifa is officially the tallest tower on the planet and it is no surprise to see residential and commercial plots within the skyscraper changing hands for huge sums of money.New data provided by real estate research specialist Reidin has shown there were 71 sales transactions in the building last year, Emirates 24/7 reports.Astonishingly, the two biggest deals registered with the Dubai Land Department came in at AED 45.42 million and AED 45.07 million - the equivalent of AED 4,000 and AED 3,969 per square foot (Sq ft) respectively.The average selling price over the course of the year was measured between AED 2,970 and AED 4,602 per sq ft.These statistics highlight just how luxurious and upmarket this particular part of the city is.With prices expected to rise across the emirate in 2013, now is a good time for investors to add to their portfolios.The record-breaking Burj Khalifa has been in the news for other reasons this week.Local photographer Gerald Donovan has taken numerous shots from the top of the building to create one of the most awe-inspiring images the world has ever seen.He has stitched all of the pictures together to make a 360-degree interactive view of Dubai.All of the city's most famous sights can be seen from a birds-eye perspective, including Meydan Racecourse and the Dubai Mall."The Burj Khalifa is a perfect building for shooting a 360 degree pano from the top of, because its 'roof' is only 1.5 metres across," Mr Donovan remarked."It's all about the view.
