Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) in full swing with impressive events line up

The 2016 edition of the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF), themed ‘Unwrap The Exceptional’, is well underway with visitors promised more than 150 events and activities as well as exceptional discounts and offers.

The impressive entertainment line-up kicked off on January 1 with a ‘World Party’ at Global Village, followed by a performance of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).

Events that run for the 32-day DSF period until February 1 include ‘Carnival at the Beach’ and ‘Beatbox at the Park’, while other entertainment highlights range from a ‘Carpet and Art Oasis’ and a ‘Ballet Gala’ to ‘Disney’s Sparkling Frozen Forest’ at City Walk and ‘Dubai Arabic Concerts’ at DWTC.

Numerous fireworks displays for which DSF is famous will also take place all over the city during the shopping extravaganza while new retail venues include ‘Market Outside the Box’ at Box Park where shoppers can find one-of-a-kind artisan kids, as well as pop-up shops at Dubai Mall.

The ‘Fashion on Ice’ catwalk show with a difference will also take place at Dubai Mall’s ice rink on January 17 while fashionistas will find runways showcasing local and international designs all over town throughout DSF.

Perfume sampling and a surprise ‘Celebrity Meet and Greet’ are also on the 2016 agenda.

Of course, discounts, jewellery promotions, and money, car and gold prizes are up for grabs too during DSF, staged at shopping venues and districts across the emirate.

Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group is giving away 56kgs of gold to 100 lucky winners this DSF while the daily Nissan Grand Raffle will give promotion participants the chance to win one of eight Nissan models.

What’s more, shoppers using their Visa cards to pay for purchases are being offered extra benefits.

DSF is now in its 21st year.
