The 15th Water, Energy and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2013) will attract organisations from 32 countries around the world, it has been confirmed.Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is behind the event and it is expecting this year's gathering to be bigger and better than ever.Held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre between April 15th and 17th, WETEX 2013 will carry the theme of 'sustainable development for all' and up to 16,000 visitors are predicted to attend.The technology-focused exhibition will shed more light on the latest eco-friendly innovations that are driving change in the water, electricity, energy, environment and oil & gas equipment industries.HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, vice chairman of the Supreme Council of Energy and managing director and chief executive officer of DEWA, said it is an ideal opportunity for businesses to forge new contacts in the Middle East and North Africa."On behalf of the Higher Organising Committee of WETEX, I am pleased to inform you that we have completed the preparations for holding WETEX 2013, 26 days ahead of the event date," he remarked.The exhibition will be held concurrently with the Dubai Global Energy Forum 2013, which Mr Al Tayer insisted highlights Dubai's commitment to putting environmental and energy topics at the top of its agenda."WETEX 2013 emerged as an ideal platform to showcase and address key issues in water conservation, protecting natural resources and sustainable development," he continued.Organisers of the event believe that Dubai is the perfect place to stage such an important gathering, as the city is renowned for hosting a plethora of important exhibitions and conferences.Not only is the emirate a hub for business in the Middle East, it has quickly become the centre of corporate activity all over the world and plenty of companies have established bases in the city in recent years.Dubai leaders will be hoping that the success of events such as WETEX 2013 will stand the emirate in good stead when officials come to choose the destination for the all-important World Expo 2020.
