Cher Lloyd to make first appearance in Dubai

Former X Factor finalist Cher Lloyd is set to perform in the UAE for the first time later this month.The singer - who has released songs called Swagger Jagger and With Ur Love - will appear at the My Music X Festival at Atlantis Beach, The Palm on March 28th, Gulf News reports.Lloyd, aged 19, was snapped up by Simon Cowell's record label Syco shortly after she appeared on the hit British talent show.She released her debut album in November 2011 and her work has a distinctly urban feel to it.The songstress is not the only person to look out for at the highly anticipated music festival, as organisers have confirmed that DJ Wire, Example and Sean Paul will also take to the stage over the course of the three-day event, which gets underway on March 27th.Senegalese star Akon has performed in Dubai on numerous occasions and he is expected to appear at My Music X too.Festival founder Darrell Bell told the news provider that a multitude of up and coming DJs and live bands will also take part in what is likely to be a memorable occasion."We'll be creating a uniquely vibrant and exciting hub of activity at the specially created My Music X Village in Dubai International Marine Club, in addition to hosting show-stopping headline acts," he was quoted as saying.Dubai's live music calendar is bursting at the seams in 2013 and there has already been some fantastic shows in the city.Bands like the Stone Roses have appeared in the emirate in the past few weeks and internationally-renowned star Justin Bieber is also expected to stop off in the Gulf as part of his world tour later this year.Sir Bob Geldof is another famous face who is set to entertain his legions of fans in Dubai this month.The Boomtown Rats member will put on a special show in the city's Irish Village on March 14th to kickstart the St Patrick's Day celebrations.
