The sporting director of one of the biggest football clubs in Germany has hailed their recent training camp in Dubai as a huge success.Speaking to the official Bundesliga website, Borussia Monchengladbach's Max Eberl said the UAE had provided the team with a perfect destination for a winter break. While Europe has been hit by freezing conditions in the past week or so, the sun has been shining on Dubai, allowing the Foals to warm up for the rest of the season in far more pleasant conditions."It's been very positive," Mr Eberl was quoted as saying."We had great weather here in Dubai, a beautiful hotel and very good conditions. The overall programme was optimal and the team was extremely motivated."With so many beautiful beaches, luxurious hotels and plenty of entertainment on offer, it is easy to see why Dubai is such a popular holiday hotspot. However, Mr Eberl insisted that the Monchengladbach players had remained fully focused throughout the trip and had worked extremely hard."We've trained really well here in Dubai and played two good friendlies. We have used the time well to prepare ourselves," he continued.Last week, Monchengladbach captain Filip Daems told the National that the facilities in Dubai were the best he had ever seen during his professional career.Such glowing endorsements will surely encourage even more European clubs to visit the UAE as part of their mid-season preparations. It will be interesting to see how the training camp has affected the Monchengladbach players and all eyes will be on their next Bundesliga game. They will travel to Hoffenheim on January 19th and will be looking to climb the table in the second half of the campaign.Monchengladbach are currently lying in eighth position after 17 games and are just five points off a Champions League place. They have only lost four league games so far this season and are also still involved in the Uefa Europa League.
