Dubai's reputation for attracting the world's most famous musical performers continues to grow by the day. Teenage heartthrob Justin Bieber is the latest headline act to announce a show in the UAE. The Canadian superstar will take to the stage at the Dubai Sevens Stadium on May 4th 2013 and tickets are set to go on sale on September 23rd. Listed by Forbes magazine as the third most powerful celebrity in the US, Bieber is widely regarded as one of the biggest names in pop music at the moment and this will be his first live concert in the emirate. His appearance highlights the fact that Dubai has become a hotbed for entertainment in recent years and this continues to make the city increasingly attractive to investors. Thomas Ovesen of COO Done Events is delighted that the 18-year-old - whose hits include Baby and Boyfriend - has chosen to perform in the Gulf. "Now that we know the phenomenon is also an amazingly talented superstar, we look forward to welcoming Justin Bieber to Dubai for the very first time and for what will hopefully be his first of many concerts performing his hits to the legions of regional Beliebers," he remarked. Of course, Bieber is not the only star turn to take to the stage in Dubai in the next 12 months. In October 2012, rap icon 50 Cent will perform at the Atelier Live Music Festival at the Meydan Racecourse and singer Enrique Iglesias is also lining up a solo gig. The Grammy Award-winning Spaniard is due to appear at the Dubai World Trade Centre on October 26th, where he will treat his fans to renditions of his most famous hits such as Hero. Iglesias has a reputation for being one of the most passionate and talented live performers in the world and the fact he has decided to put on a show in Dubai this year can be seen as a real coup for the UAE as a whole.
