Dubai is poised to break another world record in the near future; the World’s Tallest Hotel. Government approval has been given for phase two of a AED2.5 billion hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road. The JW Marriott Marquis Dubai hotel will have 1,600 rooms, the largest function room in the Middle East and 19 restaurants. The completion of the ambitious development is set to further boost Dubai’s status as one of the world’s most vibrant hotel markets. Phase one of the hotel was recently inspected by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Sheikh Mohammed described the development as a major boost to the tourism sector, which has become synonymous with unparalleled business and tourism ventures.
