From June onwards, Emirates Airlines is to start running a daily non-stop flight from Glasgow to Dubai. The airline has been operating a daily flight to emirate from 2004 and has decided that in light of rising demand it ought to operate a second flight, people interested in UAE property will be keen to know. Indeed, the capacity of visitors travelling from Glasgow, Scotland's second largest city, will increase by 47 per cent. Laurie Berryman, Emirates' vice-president UK and Ireland, commented: "Our Glasgow route has been a real success story, and we are extremely confident that there is the demand for additional services flying east to Dubai and onward to our global network of over 115 destinations." The new service, Mr Berryman said, "brings real benefits to Scotland's economy and its international competitiveness". Emirates has carried more than 1.7 million passengers since it started operating flights from Glasgow.
