Operation numbers in the industrial district of Dubai Maritime City have doubled over the last year, people considering Dubai property investment may be interested to hear. Officials have revealed that in the first six months of this year, 318 vessels were docked and undocked at the site - around twice the number on last year. Furthermore, ameinfo.com reports that 50 vessels were berthed on a single day recently, suggesting that this record could increase further in the coming months. Khamis Juma Buamim, chairman of the Board of Drydocks World and Maritime World, told the news provider that the district has been on a "strong business footing" this year. "Our efforts to promote our services among the small to mid-size vessel owners have been very well-received," he explained. "We are looking to expand and diversify our offerings in the near future to further supplement the available services so that we become the a one-stop shop for all repair needs." It comes after Dubai's trade rose by 16.5 per cent in the first half of this year, according to the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
