Starwood Hotels & Resorts is poised to open a number of new venues in the UAE over the coming years. The group, which already operates 63 hotels across the Middle East, is set to open 41 more units across the region in the next two to three years, Gulf News reported.Roeland Vos, president for Europe, Africa and Middle East for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, told the news provider: "There is a pipeline of 41 hotels that are signed and announced — are under construction one way or the other. They will open up over the next two to three years."In addition to this, we would expect a lot more to come because we would keep signing some. So those 41 hotels will be built, but perhaps not all of them because even in a normal cycle there are a few that fall out."The news follows the publication of a report Knight Frank Citi, which revealed that Dubai has regained its place as one of the top 20 cities in the world, overtaking more established cities, such as Washington, Zurich and Sydney.
