Luxury Hotel chain Hilton Worldwide has revealed plans to open a Double Tree hotel in Al Barsha. The area, near Tecom, has fast emerged as a hotspot for hotels and hotel apartments, thanks to its strategic location in New Dubai. It is also close to The First Group’s three prestigious hotel apartment projects; Metro Central, Grand Central and First Central.
Hilton’s decision to open a new Double Tree in Dubai – the first of its kind in the city - adds yet more weight to recent reports that the emirate’s hotel industry is thriving. As one of the Hilton’s nine global brands, Double Tree slots into the upscale segment of the hotelier’s portfolio. As well as Al Barsha, the company has signed a second DT hotel in the northern emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.
The new additions fall under Hilton Worldwide’s plans to expand by 80% in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) by 2012. This year, the brand is opening 230 hotels across the globe, adding to its current total of 178.
