Dubai will soon be welcoming thousands of delegates and visitors to a major transport event later this month.
The 59th UITP World Congress and Mobility and City Transport Exhibition will be held from April 10th-14th and Congress Solutions International (CSI), part of Emirates airline, is getting ready for the emirate's first ever hosting duties.
It aims to bring together people from 90 countries all over the world to talk about the future of transport and will be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Officials in Dubai had worked hard to secure the bid to host the event as it coincides with the emirate opening its first Metro service.
Mohammed Obaid Al Mulla, head of the UITP host committee, commented: "By hosting the UITP World Congress and Mobility & City Transport Exhibition, we have created a platform to showcase the tremendous progress that has been made in the development of a comprehensive public transport network across Dubai."
CSI noted that the event will also lead to around 8,000 hotel nights in Dubai and average spend of AED 800-1,000 per delegate.
