Tourism in the UAE could soon be boosted following the addition of an extra daily flight to Dubai from Manchester Airport.
The news will boost carrier Emirates' Manchester to Dubai service as the airport will be operating three daily flights to the emirate.
Passengers will be able to benefit from the additional service, which will be operated by an Airbus A330-200 aircraft, from May 1st this year.
Andrew Harrison, managing director of Manchester Airport, said: "Since bringing the A380 to Manchester last September the route to Dubai has been one of Emirates' strongest performers and we saw a full complement of 517 in November so we know the traffic is there and the third daily service underlines the strength of this route and the importance of the Middle East to our longer term ambitions as an airport."
Laurie Berryman, Emirates' vice-president for the UK and Ireland, explained that the move has been decided in response to the popularity of its existing services.
The airline boss said that demand for flights between Manchester in Dubai is continually growing, resulting in the need for the additional service.
