Employers in Dubai are confident that they will experience a good year ahead and hire more workers, according to a new survey.
BAC Middle East found that 95 per cent of employers are 'fairly optimistic' or even more positive about the year ahead, with 85 per cent expecting that the recruitment market will be boosted in comparison to last year.
Indeed, almost three-quarters (72 per cent) of the organisations surveyed said they would hire new staff this year, Emirates 24/7 reported.
However, salary expectations are expected to either stay the same or see a marginal increase of just five per cent.
Siobhan O'Reilly, recruitment manager at BAC Middle East, told the news provider: "The market is in an interesting situation whereby companies are looking to control costs and hold salaries steady, while at the same time facing a situation where skilled candidates are in an increasingly strong negotiating position."
Despite claims of steady salaries, it was reported this week that research by Bayt.com found that pay levels across the UAE remain some of the most competitive in the Middle East.
