Dubai International has officially been named as the best airport in the Middle East.
The travel hub picked up the honour at the Skytrax World Airport Awards 2011, in Copenhagen, WAM reported.
Commenting on the win, Paul Griffiths, chief executive officer of Dubai Airports, told the news provider: "Dubai International's latest win is a testament to the commitment we have made to our customers.
"We are constantly working to take that commitment to another level and be recognised globally both for our airport facility as well as our service quality. We have risen to number four on the world's busiest airports for international traffic … and it's heartening to see that we have managed to enhance our customer service even as the airport continues to grow."
The win takes the airport's trophy haul to three for 2011, having already been awarded the Best Airport in the Middle East and the Best Improvement (ME) prizes at the Airports Council International's Airport Service Quality Awards in February.
According to Dubai International's latest figures, passenger numbers increased by 5.2 cent last month compared to February 2010.
