The highly-anticipated Abu Dhabi Yacht Show (ADYS) has been officially opened by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, minister of higher education and scientific research.
Taking place over the course of three-days, the event is set in the Yas Marina and hopes to attract visitors from the US, UK, France, Spain, Germany, Turkey and the Baltic States.
Organisers are hoping to use the third annual exhibition to showcase the emirate's impressive marina facilities as well as the UAE's growing yacht-building and export capabilities.
Andy Treadwell, managing director of Informa Yacht Group, said: "The first two ADYS editions received a tremendously positive response from the global yachting community.
"The solid business opportunities it provided are reflected in the number of return exhibitors and several new companies that have chosen to join us this year, which is testimony to the commercial clout this region leverages on a global playing field."
Meanwhile, according to a recent article by Gulf News, rental rates for marina berths in Gulf countries have remained steady over the past two years.
