UAE-based Mubadala Healthcare has announced plans to open a new health screening facility for expatriates.
Due to open in the first quarter of 2011, Capital Health Screening Centre will provide standard infectious disease screenings for expatriates applying for and renewing their Abu Dhabi residency visas, Mubadala said.
When operational, the centre is expected to have the capacity to manage up to 300 visa applicants per day as well as providing the option of a premium service with a 24-hour turnaround on results.
The centre will be operated by Singapore's AsiaMedic Limited, a specialist in disease prevention and early illness detection.
AsiaMedic is already working with Mubadala to establish a wellness and diagnostic centre in Abu Dhabi, which is scheduled to open next year.
Commenting on the screening centre, Suhail Al Ansari, head of Mubadala Healthcare, said: "We aim to deliver a world-class facility that welcomes newcomers to Abu Dhabi and helps to ensure that our working community remains safe and healthy, which we believe is vital to the region's continued growth and prosperity."
Mubadala Healthcare is a business unit of Mubadala Development Company, which is wholly-owned by the government of Abu Dhabi.
