Organisations operating in the UAE are increasingly seeking to outsource IT functions, a new study has found.
According to the "ICT in the UAE" report, which was prepared by Dubai Internet City in conjunction with regional law firm Al Tamimi & Co, the growing maturity of cyber regulations has supported the growth of the internet in the UAE as well as related key technology tools that impact common users.
It added that firms in the UAE are increasingly realising the business benefits of outsourcing and are now opting to work with service providers for "mission critical applications" and to gain operational efficiency.
"Dubai Outsource Zone has particularly benefitted from the growth of the enterprise segment in the country," said Malek Al Malek, managing director of Dubai Internet City.
"Buying patterns have changed as companies have realised the value of outsourcing not only in terms of cost but also in relation to business processes within a company."
Dubai Internet City is a member of TECOM Investments and is currently one of the Middle East's largest information and communications technology clusters.
