Employers across the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are still keen to recruit new talent, both from within the emirates or from overseas.
Coming as the National Career Exhibition takes place at the Expo Centre Sharjah in Dubai, some of the region's top employers have stated that, following on from a couple of years of relative restraint in the recruitment market, they are now keen to attract fresh talent.
Notably, while many of the bigger employers continue with their policies of 'Emiratisation', in most cases, they are keen to ensure around 30 to 40 per cent of new recruits are from within the UAE, leaving plenty of opportunities available to international professionals, research carried out by the Khaleej Times has revealed.
Speaking to the newspaper, Manal Al Sayegh, the head of human resources at ADCB said: "ADCB has set ambitious targets to maintain our recruitment strategy, and we continue to attract, retain and develop talented applicants."
Prior to the show, the National Bank of Abu Dhabi announced its plans to raise its Emiratisation rate to 40 per cent by the end of the current year.
