A new headquarters for a government housing programme is to be built in Ras Al Khaimah.
The contract for an AED 13 million office for the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme has been approved and the building is expected to be ready by the last quarter of 2011, WAM News Agency reported.
According to the news outlet, the 28,000 sq ft office will be situated next-door to a number of federal and local government departments and will house three levels for customer services, architects offices, conference and meeting rooms, archive and public services offices.
"The project falls in line with the programme's strategy to deliver premium services to clients, elevate its profile as one of the major government services providers to Emirati citizens and achieve high standards of excellence," said WAM.
The news comes after Mohamed Alabbar, chairman at Emaar Properties PJSC, last month noted that the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council are attracting international investors as the region records healthy economic growth and increases in government spending.
