A fully furnished dwelling, wireless internet throughout, flat screen television, 24 hour room service, luxury leisure facilities...does that sound like heaven to you? Well, for some people, it is simply called ‘home,’ thanks to the increasing affordability of hotel apartments in the city. More and more Dubai residents are choosing to live this lifestyle, according to regional property researchers, Landmark Advisory. They say attractive rates mean more are opting for the hassle free living option of a full service hotel apartment, over and above renting a standard apartment.
“In some instances it can make financial sense to rent a hotel apartment instead of a normal unfurnished apartment on an annual contract. This is because of the amenities and services offered,” explained Jesse Downs, Director of Research & Advisory at Landmark Advisory. “When accounting for the furnishing, and amenities like satellite TV and the Internet services, it can make sense, especially for a tenant looking for flexibility.”
According to Landmark, renting a one bedroom hotel apartment in an area like Tecom, New Dubai, is now proving an affordable option, when compared to other areas of the city, for example, Dubai Marina. Tecom is also home to two of the First Group’s premium hotel apartment projects, Metro Central and Grand Central. It is also an excellent option for short to mid-term visitors to the city, who are looking for ‘home’ comforts with added hotel benefits.
