Dubai is certainly shaping up to be a city of world records! After the world’s tallest building, the world’s first man-made island and the Dubai Metro – the world’s longest driverless train, comes news of the world’s largest hotel! It’s reported that Dubai based Al Habtoor Group is planning to build the record breaking hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road. Yet more proof that the city’s hotel industry is buzzing!
"Hotels are doing well. There is improvement - 2010 was good, and 2011 will be even better," Al Habtoor told local newspaper, The National. The new hotel will boast over 2000 rooms - nearly 25% bigger than the Atlantis Hotel’s room count on the Palm Jumeirah, which totals 1,539.
