Dubai Sports City will present a major trade event for the region's sports and leisure industry later this year, it has been announced.
Held in partnership with International Expo-Consults (IEC), the Sportex Middle East 2011 exhibition is due to take place between December 12th-14th and will aim to provide "a definitive platform for the development of the sports sector in the region".
In a statement, the organisers revealed that Sportex Middle East 2010 had hosted regional and international exhibitors from 11 countries exhibiting "the latest in sports, fitness, health, leisure, outdoor and stadium equipment in the region".
The show was also reported to have attracted more than 3,200 visitors.
It was announced that the 2011 edition will include familiar Sportex elements from previous years, such as the Sportex Active pavilion, an interactive zone that enables visitors to try out some of the products on display.
"Several live sporting events will also take place during the exhibition," added the organisers.
"These include the Sportex Powerslam Bodybuilding Championship and the Sportex Football Cup 2011."
