flydubai, Dubai's first low-cost airline, claims to have started the year in the same expansionary vein as it ended the last after announcing a new service to the Bangladeshi capital of Dhaka.
In a statement, the airline said that Dhaka will become the airline's 32nd destination when flights to the city begin on Monday, February 14th.
The news follows flydubai's recent announcement of a new service to Chittagong in Bangladesh, which is due to commence on January 17th.
"There is a large Bangladeshi population living and working in the UAE, and I'm confident that the addition of flydubai's flights to the capital will be popular with this community, as it will provide opportunities for them to travel home more often," said Ghaith Al Ghaith, chief executive officer of the airline.
He added that he expected 2011 to be an even busier year for flydubai than 2010.
Set up by the government of Dubai, the airline started operations on June 1st 2009.
