Metro Riders Hit 5.9 Million in September

The number of passengers travelling by Dubai Metro hit almost 5.9 million during the month of September, thanks to the launch of the Green Line. This new phase of the network, which opened on 10th September, attracted 1.277 million passengers in just 20 days. The Red Line also clocked a massive 4.6 million passengers throughout the month.

In terms of the busiest stations on the Red Line, the Mall of the Emirates continues to be one of Dubai’s most popular stops. Located just a few minutes away from Tecom’s Dubai Internet City station, the Mall of the Emirates attracted numbers ranging from 52,000 to 293,000. Also hugely popular are the Union, Khalid bin Al Waleed and Deira City Centre stations. It is highly positive news for the Dubai Metro network - just two years into operation.

Residents and visitors to the Tecom area, which is home to The First Group’s three hotel apartment developments, can enjoy excellent access to the Dubai Metro network. The Dubai Internet City station is located directly in front of Metro Central and just a few minutes stroll from First Central and Grand Central.
