The UAE is the second most preferred employment destination for people working in the Middle East, new research shows.
According to the Bayt Middle East Job Index, which surveyed 2,763 respondents across the region, 46 per cent prefer Saudi Arabia, followed closely by the UAE with 44 per cent.
The preferred status for the UAE was a result of its "cosmopolitan work culture, better salary structures and career opportunities", the index found.
Bayt's survey findings come as the Institute of International Research (IIR) prepares to host the seventh Annual Middle East HR Summit from October 24th-28th, 2010 at the Movenpick Hotel, Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai.
IIR Middle East stated that the summit would showcase successful case studies from the region, address regionally-specific employment law issues and conduct post-event master-classes.
HR guru Chester Elton, who will be speaking at the event, commented: "Companies need to be futuristic in their view of HR departments, as good HR professionals will be consultants to leaders in the future. It is all about the right people at the right place."
