Multinational software giant Misys has said it remains confident in Dubai's business environment as it looks to expand its presence in the UAE and wider Middle East.
Roy Froud, Misys' director for the Middle East and Africa, claimed that Dubai remains a "fantastic place" to do business. The company started out in the region in 1982 with its banking software products.
In an interview with the Khaleej Times, Mr Froud said the London-based company was looking to develop its activities in a range of areas in the Middle East including trade finance, treasuries, capital markets and foreign exchange.
Indeed, it was noted that the Middle East accounted for 28 per cent of one of Misys' core profit areas in the last fiscal year.
Commenting on the importance of Dubai as a business centre in the region, Mr Froud said: "I don't think we've ever for a moment thought that we'd have our regional head office anywhere else than Dubai.
"We're thankful for all the support we've been getting for our business from the time we started it in the early eighties up until now. For the entire Misys management, there's really no alternative in terms as a hub for the region."
