The Redtag Group, a value fashion and home stores chain in the Gulf, has confirmed it will open its second store in Dubai on Wednesday (August 4th).
In April, the company opened its first store in the emirate at Ibn Battuta Mall. This was followed by another store opening in Sharjah in June.
Ernest J Hosking, chief executive officer of the Redtag Group, said this week's new Dubai opening at the Union Co-operative Society in Al Wasl would strengthen the company's reputation as a value fashion retailer in the UAE.
"Our aim is to build the Redtag brand in the UAE as the brand has already established its presence firmly in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait," he said.
"Currently there are a total of 33 Redtag stores out of a total of 52 Group stores. The plan is to open 18 additional Redtag stores per year over the next three years as well as to convert the remaining Group stores to the Redtag brand during the same timeframe."
Last week, the Nielsen Global Consumer Confidence Index for the second quarter of 2010 found that consumers in the UAE remain among the world's most optimistic.
