Hertz plans Abu Dhabi expansion 'to match tourism growth'

Car rental company Hertz has confirmed it will increase its presence in Abu Dhabi this week with the opening of an exclusive service desk at Abu Dhabi International Airport.

Hertz is one of six preferred car rental companies allowed to operate at the newly opened Sky Park Plaza opposite Etihad's Airways Terminal 3, the Khaleej Times reported.

Nigel Johnson, general manager of Hertz UAE, commented: "We are entering an exciting phase of growth with new branches planned across Abu Dhabi to match the city's rapid growth in population as well as tourism over the next few years.

"To be selected from 19 potential suppliers as one of only six car rental companies is a great achievement."

The latest branch opening at the airport means that Hertz, which belongs to the Al-Futtaim group of companies, now has 13 locations across the UAE.

According to a recent study by the emirate's urban planning council, Abu Dhabi will see about 22,100 new residential units come online over the next three years.ADNFCR-2019-ID-19819903-ADNFCR
