Abu Dhabi's department of municipal affairs has hosted a special conference aimed at advancing the strategic plans of various nearby municipal systems.
The workshop, which took place yesterday (June 9th) at the Fairmont - Bab Al Bahar in Abu Dhabi, was attended by representatives from the Abu Dhabi City municipality, Al Ain municipality, and the Western Region municipality.
Delegates discussed ways of ensuring greater alignment between the municipalities and different ways of improving their service delivery.
Rashid Al Hajeri, chairman of the Abu Dhabi authority, commented: "The workshop builds on one that was held in February by the department which was aimed at creating a unified Municipal direction by identifying common ground.
"It also focused on increasing co-ordination, and knowledge sharing with a goal of providing an infrastructure that creates a higher standard of living for residents of the emirate."
This week, the Health Authority Abu Dhabi (HAAD), the emirate's healthcare regulator, announced the opening of new customer service counters at two central locations.
