Abu Dhabi Motors became the number one retailer of BMW cars in the Middle East during the first five months of 2010, figures from the dealership show.
In a statement, the company revealed that January-May sales were up 37 per cent compared to the same period in 2009 - a result it put down to the economic prosperity and confidence in the UAE's capital as well as the strength of BMW in Abu Dhabi.
Abu Dhabi Motors is currently the exclusive importer for BMW, MINI and ALPINA cars as well as the sole dealer for Rolls-Royce in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.
Its top selling model during the first five months of the year was the flagship BMW 7 Series with 443 units sold - an increase of 146 per cent on the same period last year, followed by the popular X6 with 319 cars sold, an increase of nine per cent.
Arno Husselmann, general manager at Abu Dhabi Motors, commented: "We are working on a number of projects including the expansion of our flagship showroom for all our BMW brands that will include the largest showroom in the world for Rolls-Royce, so that we can deliver even higher standards of customer appreciation."
