Doubletree, a new luxury hotel brand by Hilton Worldwide, will make its debut in the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa) in the fourth quarter of this year, it has been revealed.
The announcement came as Hilton confirmed it will open 21 new properties across MENA by 2014, four of which will be located in the UAE.
Speaking to Emirates Business 24/7, Andrew J Clough, the company's senior vice-president of development for the Middle East and Asia-Pacific, said Hilton is also "actively prospecting" the UAE for a location for its five-star Waldorf Astoria hotel brand.
"We are very confident about our Doubletree brand, which can easily fit in the four- and five-star segment here," he said. "We are looking at more opportunities in the UAE."
In addition to the Doubletree hotel for Ras Al Khaimah, Hilton's other plans for the UAE include the Dubai Jumeirah Beach Residence and the Conrad Dubai, both of which will open next year, as well as the Hilton Mina Al Arab Resort, Ras Al Khaimah, the opening date of which is to be confirmed.
Today (May 4th) sees the opening of the Arabian Travel Market, a leading tourism event for the Middle East which runs until May 7th at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
