Etisalat, the largest telecommunications company in the UAE, has promoted the virtues of openness and collaboration within the country's business community at its latest Etisalat ICT Forum today (May 27th).
During the forum, Etisalat offered strategic direction to UAE corporates with particular reference to the use of information and communication technologies (ITC) as a means of meeting the challenges of the current global economy.
The event saw delegate participation from many leading organisations in the UAE, with speakers Etisalat joined by industry solution partners like RIM, Avaya, Pacific Controls, Smartworld and Encode Middle East.
In addition, Abdulla Hashim, senior vice-president of business solutions, delivered a "leadership manifesto" for helping business executives more effectively achieve organisational optimisation in the region.
Referring to the UAE, he said: "ICT partnerships will evolve to become collaborative, mobility solutions will become critical to conduct business 24/7 and co-sourcing partnerships will provide the required stimuli to businesses, by allowing them to focus on their core competencies, while their partner focuses on managing their ICT infrastructure."
Earlier this week, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry announced that the total exports of its 4,645 members during April this year reached a combined value of AED 16.8 billion - a 13 per cent increase on the same month in 2009.
