The Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) has won two prizes at the Middle East Event Awards.
It scooped the accolades for Best Purpose-Built Events Venue as well as the Best Trade Exhibition - Gulfood, cementing its reputation as one of the region's most popular events locations.
Helal Saeed Almarri, chief executive officer of the DWTC, said: "Winning these two additional accolades further highlights Dubai's position as a pioneering hub for events in the region and reinforces our reputation as the region's leading provider of best-in-class facilities and services."
Almarri added that the prizes, which follow two World Travel Awards, highlight the dedication and drive of DWTC employees and partners.
DWTC welcomed over 1.24 million visitors to its various venues last year, marking a 12 per cent increase compared with 2008.
It features eight exhibition halls and the Dubai International Convention Centre, in addition to the original tower and some residential apartments.
