Yas Island developments in Abu Dhabi are presenting a growing number of opportunities in business travel, conferences and tourism, it has been suggested.
Aldar, a leading property development and investment firm in Abu Dhabi, unveiled details of current activity at Yas Island to industry professionals at this week's Gulf Incentive, Business Travel and Meetings Exhibition.
It claimed that since opening in November last year, the Yas Hotel has already made a name for itself as a unique conference and event venue in Abu Dhabi, hosting some of the most high profile events recently held in the emirate including the Abu Dhabi Media Summit, Gourmet Abu Dhabi and events for Ferrari, Deutsche Bank, Maserati and BMW.
Meanwhile, it noted that the clubhouse at the new Yas Links Golf Course opened in Abu Dhabi earlier this month, "further strengthening the emirate's position as a major golf tourism destination."
The course itself is set to open later this year complete with a state-of-the-art academy. Aldar believes Yas Links will provide a wealth of further meetings and event opportunities.
Announcing its own schedule this week, the property developer Tamouh said it will begin the handover of apartment units in Marina Square, Abu Dhabi from May 2010.
