More than 50 per cent of firms in the Middle East are planning to expand their workforce in 2010, a new survey has revealed.
According to the poll by Careertunity.com, companies in the UAE are also planning to increase salaries by an average of between 7 and 7.5 per cent as they look to retain key personnel and maintain their competitiveness.
In addition, it was found that regional online recruitment sites such as Careertunity saw a 25 per cent surge in applicant inquiries last year, with 21 per cent of Middle Eastern businesses using the services for their fast and efficient results.
Sudeshna Mukherjee, general manager of Careertunity, commented: "Most of the region's companies adjusted well to new business realities last year and are now moving to maintain and acquire top talent to enhance their competitiveness and achieve their goals."
Careertunity.com has previously set out its aim of supporting major recruitment events in Dubai and was a recent participant in Dubai Career Day 2010, which took place between April 7th and 8th at the Hult International Business School in Dubai International Academic City.
