Jumeirah Group, a Dubai-based hospitality firm, has announced plans to launch its new VENU Hotels brand later this year.
The company said VENU will be a "contemporary lifestyle hotel brand" and is set to be launched at some point in 2010 when locations for its first set of hotels have been confirmed.
Jumeirah is in advanced stages of negotiation with developers interested in opening VENU branded hotels in the Middle East, Northern Africa, Eastern Europe and Asia-Pacific, it added.
Further discussions with developers and investors will take place during the Arabian Hotel Investment Conference from May 1st-3rd.
Gerald Lawless, executive chairman of the group, said: "VENU Hotels will, when launched, fulfil a clear market need and one that is highly complementary to the Jumeirah Hotels and Resorts brand."
The announcement came as Jumeirah reported high occupancy rates in its Dubai hotels between February and April 2010.
Among them, Jumeirah Beach Hotel recorded occupancy of 92.5 per cent in April and an average of 89 per cent in February and March.
