Aldar Properties, a development firm in Abu Dhabi, has announced the "significant progress" of key infrastructure projects at its Al Raha Beach waterfront development.
Infrastructure work is being carried out ahead of the completion of the first residential and commercial elements.
As part of the work, three interchanges on the main Abu Dhabi-Dubai Highway will soon open to traffic in-bound to Al Raha Beach and Al Raha Gardens. Pending final testing and clearances by the relevant authorities, the interchanges will be opened up to traffic in phases to allow access to areas of Al Raha Beach as they are completed.
In addition, Aldar reported that utilities installation is progressing well in the eastern precinct of Al Raha Beach, which covers the area from the Yas Island tunnel to the iconic HQ building adjacent to the Al Raha Beach Hotel.
This includes automated vacuum waste collection systems and a chilled water network.
Talal Al Dhiyebi, director of planning and infrastructure at the firm, said: "We are delighted to announce this significant construction progress at Al Raha Beach that will benefit both future residents and those already living and working in the surrounding area."
Last week, IQPC Middle East, a business conference organiser, observed that there has been a strong focus on achieving a highly efficient transport system for Abu Dhabi.
