Archgroup International and Emirates Airline have hosted a 'topping out' ceremony to mark the casting of the final rooftop concrete at Emirates Park Towers – a new luxury hotel and apartment development for Dubai.
The companies have confirmed that construction of the AED 1.8 billion, 1,612 room twin-tower property remains firmly on track, with the South Tower expected to be handed over to hotel chain Marriott International in May 2011. The adjoining North Tower will be handed over in 2013.
Upon completion, the twin towers will stand at 365 metres, making them among the tallest single use hotel and residential apartment buildings in the world.
The towers are currently being built on Sheikh Zayed Road, adjacent to Dubai's emerging Business Bay district and close to Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest tower. It is thought Emirates Park Towers will become one of the leading luxury business and tourist hotels in Dubai.
Ali Mubarak Al Soori of Emirates said: "Emirates Park Towers will be an iconic and dramatic addition to the ever-changing skyline of this exciting city."
This week it was reported Abu Dhabi will be the setting for Arabian Construction Week between May 24-26, which will feature over 150 exhibitors showcasing hundreds of the latest products and construction solutions.
