The recent Abu Dhabi Festival 2010 has left a lasting legacy in the emirate, it has been claimed.
Speaking to albawaba.com, culture commentator Hoda al Khamis Kanoo said the festival was a "global symphony of cultures" and incorporated both high-profile performances and a large number of community events.
He told the news provider that the unique collaborations that took place at the festival had the potential to enhance cultural appreciation in the emirate, as well as boosting education and participation in Abu Dhabi.
"We reflect the determination of Abu Dhabi to take the lead in cultural understanding by using the festival as a platform for debate and partnership," Mr al Khamis Kanoo said.
He added: "The international partnerships developed through agreements with leading international cultural bodies will help us to enhance cultural activity and education in Abu Dhabi and position the UAE capital as a major destination for cultural enlightenment."
