The ten-month old, Dubai-based airline flydubai will double its network this year, its chief executive has said.
Ghaith Al Ghaith was speaking ahead of the airline's launch of its Dubai-Kuwait flight today (March 30th), Emirates Business 24/7 reported.
The airline, which also launched flights to Muscat at the weekend, will grow its fleet from seven to 13 aircraft by the end of 2010, Mr Al Ghaith added.
He said that flydubai is set to take delivery of its eighth aircraft next month and with five more to be added later this year, the company will continue to quickly add Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) destinations to its flight schedule.
"We will go to as many routes as we can and we will announce them when all the criteria are met. But definitely expect more destinations within the GCC," confirmed Mr Al Ghaith.
Last week, it was reported that Dubai International Airport welcomed 22.6 per cent more passengers in February compared to the same month last year.
