Dubai Airport Freezone has signed a deal to cooperate in information technology services and commercial operations with the Okinawa Free Trade Zone in Japan.
The deal is part of efforts by Dubai Airport Freezone to make global strategic partnerships that will attract more foreign investments.
Nasser Al Madani, assistant director-general of Dubai Airport Freezone met with senior officials from the Okinawa Free Trade Zone to endorse the agreement and to brief them on the services and facilities provided by the freezone.
Mr Al Madani said: "We are confident that we have unique expertise and
knowledge in the field of free zones thanks to continuous support of officials in the government of Dubai. This helps us to provide new ideas for other free zones and take what can benefit us from them."
Dubai Airport Freezone offers companies operating within its boundaries 100 per cent repatriation of capital as well as "one stop shop" administration services and cargo handling facilities.
